Reloading the .41 AE

Postby Greed » Tue Jun 22, 2010 9:40 pm

I just picked up a IMI kit and am thinking of buying a few extra boxes of 41AE 200gr FMJ FN and start reloading after i shoot though those. ive never done reloading before so does anyone know how hard it would be to get the FMJ FN bullets themselves, or have any tips in general when it comes to reloading this round?

I dont have the 41ae, but obviously being a Jericho enthusiast it has crossed my mind. And being new to reloading myself, for the .45 acp so far, I did look around for supplies for the 41 and the results were scarce and pricey. If I did get the whole kit as my second Jericho, there is a good chance it would end up in a display case, ammo and all. For brass, try qual-cart.com. For bullets, you can use 41 mags.

cdnninvestments.com has barrels under EAA, going for $50 with mag and spring. http://www.cdnninvestments.com/eaa41cobawma.html Im not 100% sure that the barrel will fit, but I am expecting one to arrive any day now and can let you know. I bought it because you cant beat that deal, but I am still unable to find any brass anywhere (for less than $2 or $3 per case). If you come across any good source for brass let me know.

Just an update, that 41 ae barrel fits my full 40 (.550 barrel O.D.). Now if only I had some 41 ammo to try.

You will find .41 AE csat bullets, $84.00 per 1,000, here: http://sanjuanrange.com/

Brass as stated in one of the posts above, Midway also carries that brass.

Gunbroker.com is the only source I have found where you will consistently see .41 Ae factory loads and brass offered.
