Yugo SKS 59/66

Yugo SKS 59/66

Postby JavaTee » Fri Mar 11, 2011 2:26 pm

Recently picked up a Yugo SKS 59/66 (7.62 X 39mm) for an all around rifle, whether it's a SHTF, light pliking out from 100 to 300 yds, or a brush - larger game - gun. I know I should post some pics <--will be soon. I still have some cosmoline to clean off, but the weapon seems to be in excellent condition.

More later.....,

Well it's been a LONG few months, lots of overtime, and not enough cleaning/shooting time.
The first photo is after I finally cleaned all of the cosomline off;

This one is taking a weekend off and doing some plinking, and trying to remember proper stance & grip - while reloading mags;

The SKS shoots dead on at 100 yards, and with my crappy standing shots I can hold about 4-5" groups. The weapons in the pics are (on the table - left to right) Jericho 941R semi compact .45 ACP, then my daily carry - Ruger LCP in 'thepocketholster', rifles are SKS, Ruger 10/22, then my Mossberg 835;

Nice collection....I just picked up a 10/22 as a gunsmithing project, I plan on converting it into a bullpup, among other things. The SKS looks real good with the bayo attached, glad to hear its a shooter.
