Northern Colorado Ranges

We have three indoor ranges up here that I know of. One in Ft. Collins that is open to the public, and pricey to shoot at. There is one in Loveland that is members only, and one in Greeley that is ran by the City Recreation Department. It is pretty much restricted to youth classes.

There is a member's only outdoor range in Weld County with varyng distances that belongs to the Department of Wildlife. Nice range, but about $600 clams a year for membership. Ft. Collins use to have an outdoor range built on an old dump. Was a decent range, but had a lot of restrictions. Don't know if it still exists.

I do most of my shooting at the Pawnee National Grass Lands. There is a place called "shooters' valley" that is free to the public. All they ask is that you clean up after yourselves, keep it safe, and be courteous of others. Ranges aren't real long in the valley, good for handguns and short rifle shots. There are other areas in the grass lands where longer shooting can be done, but since I only have the 30-30 I haven't bothered to find them. Have I mentioned it's free?

The nice thing about shooting in the grass lands is I can set up whatever type of course I want. I can incorporate shooting while moving, multiple target, and multiple targets at different angles. The only real restriction is how many other people are using the area. The more people there are the less freedom I have on designing my shooting course. Did I mention it's free?
Gun control violates the Declaration of Independance as it prohbits my pursuit of happiness.
